Head of Development
In Queensland's Bowen Basin our asset BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal (BMC) is a joint venture owned by BHP Billiton (80%) and Mitsui and Co (20%) which currently operates the Poitrel & South Walker Creek mines. These mines have a total production capacity of 7 million tonnes per annum of coking and PCI coal.

About the role
In this critical position reporting to the Asset President, you will be responsible for leading the Development function for resource planning and development, and asset projects. As an integral member of BMC's Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will contribute to the direction of the business and actively promote a culture that upholds the BHP Billiton values.
As the Head of Development you will also be tasked with the following:
As a manager, you will have operations experience in a production or project environment, as well as an understanding of asset level planning, projects and operations processes and how these areas interact. With a well-developed business acumen, you are a strategic thinker who is able to readily grasp complex issues and provide innovative and robust solutions. You have a track record for building and leading successful teams, and your communication and interpersonal skills are first class. Additionally, you will have a degree in Engineering, or a related discipline.
