About the role
BHP Billiton's new Maintenance Centre of Excellence (MCoE) is the coming together of a dedicated, innovative team focused on identifying, achieving and maintaining the highest standards in maintenance for BHP Billiton globally.
These roles will be performed from our Centre of Excellence hubs based in our Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth offices, supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around the Australia and the globe.
The Specialist Repairable and Warranties is a key role responsible for the overall coordination of the repairable and warranty processes, leveraging the size of the business and deliver consistent component repair performance.
Reporting to the Superintendent Warranties and Repairables in this Brisbane Office based role, you will work closely with our Supply Department to ensure the offsite repairs process is managed in accordance with the relevant standards and specifications while ensuring a clear and transparent forecast of component demand for the supply function.
In this role you will:
•Liaise closely with the Work Management Planning and Inventory Planning functions to optimise the forecasting with suppliers and ensure the delivery of required components as per the equipment schedule
•Provides condition assessments, on request, to work management planners on major components due for change based on fixed interval strategies
•Identify short range trends in asset performance and utilises the work management system to capture and recommend preventative work
•Provide and verify technical data for equipment to support supply in warranty claims
•You will have extensive experience in component overhauls
•You will have extensive technical knowledge of repairable as to be able to assist in informing Asset Management standards and specifications
•Extensive experience in Mining or Oil and Gas required. Heavy electrical industry experience, AC/DC motor and/or dragline experience will be desired.
•Ideally, you will have previous experience within an OEM rebuild facility
•You will have proven ability to work across multiple teams and resolve scheduling conflicts
•Able to travel extensively to workshops and operational mine sites
•Process Vendor management skills and experience in contract management
