Reporting to the Global Lead Problem Management, the successful incumbent will assist with the development of best practice problem management processes, lead and consult with technical specialists to drive to the root cause of problems and reduce incidents, develop data analytics, tools and monitoring systems that contribute to the excellence of the global problem management function. With an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development, the successful candidate will present as being highly numerate, technically astute across the full tech stack and will ensure conformance with the BHP Billiton Charter, the BHP Billiton Group Level Documents, the Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations.
In addition to this, the appointed candidate will: • Work alongside operations and technical specialists to provide guidance, critical analysis and support for solving complex technical problems across IT/OT; • Assist with the administrative and management aspects of problem management • Assist with corrective action reviews to a high level of quality; • Liaise across the business as required to gain inputs to analysis and align activity; and • Contribute to other Technology activity as required.
Skills and Experience Experience in technology and improvement will be highly regarded together with knowledge of the ITIL processes.
Exposure in the practicalities of technology operations complemented by experience in analysis and planning roles is preferred.
- Typically you may have one or several of the following attributes:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years in IT Department or Continuous Improvement role
- Exposure to ITIL and Security processes
- Qualifications in either ITIL, ITSM or similar
- Previous experience as a Service Manager, ITIL Problem Specialist or Service Improvement Consultant
- Extensive experience in Service Improvement in a large and complex service environment
- Well-developed experience engaging and influencing key stakeholders
- Strong DevOps and data analytics skills will also be highly desirable
You will be a flexible, resourceful and collaborative problem-solver with a clear ability to deal with complexity and distil key issues. Your communication skills will enable you to communicate key issues with senior executives. Location You will be based in Houston, Texas in our Petroleum Head Office.
