About the role

Reporting to the Manager Employee Relations and working within a small Employee Relations team, the Principal Employee Relations will provide ER support and guidance to all parts of the organisation. The role will serve as an escalation point for employee relations issues and will provide advisory support to HR Business Partners on matters including legislation, industrial agreements and grievances.

In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic employee relations advice
  • Coordinate and guide the development and implementation of Employee Relations (ER) frameworks, policies and practices
  • Provide support relating to grievances and disputes including matters that escalate to the Fair Work Commission or other legal jurisdictions.
  • Coordinate ER input to Project deliverables and the development and implementation of the ER contractor management strategy.
  • Support the investigation and resolution of Code of Business Conduct matters, including ER matters related to employee entitlements, policy issues, grievances and legislative compliance
  • Manage Industrial Relations (IR) risks to the business and coordinate relevant mitigating actions
  • Lead continuous improvement of enterprise bargaining agreements and coordinate the development of plans for agreement negotiations.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have a proactive style and the ability to influence stakeholders internally and externally to the business. You will have demonstrated understanding of ER principles, legislation and industrial agreements enabling you to provide advice on numerous, varied and complex matters.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry and or organisational experience will be highly regarded.  This role is Brisbane based but may require regular travel to our operations in Queensland and New South Wales.
